Tiger of the Week

Tiger of the Week Tiger of the week is voted on by the coaches every week. The award is not intended for just champs but to the athlete displaying hard work, determination, and good sportsmanship.

• Tiger of the week went to Matt Smith. This is Matt's second season with the Caldwell Co. Tigers. Last year Matt wrestled in the 103lb. weight class and done really well for us as a first year wrestler. Matt come up a little short making it to state last year; but is determined to be state bound this year and this weeks performance is nothing less of that: Matt finished the day 4-0 all by way of pin in the 119lb. weight class. Matt's total time on the mat was 2 minutes and 16 seconds; which is outstanding considering the fact that one full match is 6 minutes long. Matt's fastest pin of the day was in 15 seconds which tied the season record with another Tiger wrestler Channing Revelett our 215lb. wrestler.
