103-Chris Gilkey went 3-0 becoming champion at the 103 weight class “this was Gilkey’s first tournament champion at varsity level”, Gilkey beat Hall (Christ), Austin (Christ), and Baehl (Gbson). All by pin.
119-Clay Revelett went 3-2 finishing 5th in the tournament. Revelett lost to Burnham (Christ) and Hirsh (Gbson). Revelett had wins over Frank (Callo), Weekley (Jeffer), and Insko (Dav).
119-Max Ashley went 0-2 both matches Max was winning until the last minute of the match. With some more mat time Max will be able to finish matches, but it’s going to take time and experience to develop those skills.
125-Andrew Walls went 0-2. Andrew lost to Ward (Apollo) and McQueen (WECR).
130-Keenan Jones went 0-2. Jones had been out of the line up for a few days and it really showed. Jones lost to Boldbattaar (Jeffer) and Hodge (WECR).
145-Kegan Agnew went 3-0 becoming Caldwells second champ for the night at 145 weight class. Agnew’s toughest match was with Starks (Callo) in the first round. Starks has been at 140 and bumped up for this tournament. Agnew won 7-3, then Tec Falled Haywood (Ft. Camp), and Agnew pinned Orth (BISH) *Orth was ranked 26th in state at 145.
152-Jon Crowley went 1-2. Crowley had a tough first round match with Urban (UHA) *who was tournament champ of that weight. Crowley then beat Tuilafano (Ft. Knox), Crowley was losing the match and showed a lot of heart with his pin with only 30sec. left in the first period. Crowley was then beat by Webb (Jeffer).
189-Cody Moll went 0-2 losing to Fraze (Jeffer) and Martin (Gbson).
189-Jesse Davis went 2-3 for the day finishing 6th. Jesse is really showing a lot of improvement from the first of the year. Jesse lost to Childs (WECR), Fraze (Jeffer), and Martin (Gbson). Davis beat Easterling (Ohio) and Hodge (Paducah).
215-Noah Kennaday went 0-2. Kennaday lost to Overstreet (Paducah) and Cartwright (Christ).
Middle school
Kaleb Hammons finished second at 70
Dylan Gray finished second at 82
Boyce Nichols at 96, Peyton Miles at 82, Bryce Davis at 103, Dillon Lewis 124, and Daniel Moll at 124 all went 1-2 for the day.
