Tiger of the week
Tiger of the week went to Tanner Flynn. Tanner is a senior this year and is wrestling in the 285lb. weight class. You can really tell that Tanner has used his time off this summer improving his career in athletics. This will be Tanner’s fifth year with the tigers and he is planning on making a run for the state title this year in his weight class. Tanner is 10-0 and has won the last two tournaments that the Tigers have competed in. Taking first in the Armstrong classic was a big boost for his moral knowing that several guys in that weight class were ranked much higher then him in the state. State rankings have a tendency to overlook guys like Tanner who broke his hand a week before state tournament last year. Tanner had beaten a couple guys that placed in the heavy weight class last year but due to his injury he was unable to compete, and I think when other coaches don’t see you at the sate tournament they forget about you when it comes to rankings. I don’t see this happening very much longer with Tanner continuing to excel in his class.
